Stoeterij Koningsland was established in 1974 by Theo Jansen. What started out as a hobby soon became a professional stud farm. Model mare Afke was the first Friesian he bought soon followed by two stermares. Because of a well thought of management and breeding program, results followed soon. Highlight of the breeding program was the official approval of Phryske van Koningsland well known as Olof 315. Olof 315 made a significant contribution to the breeding of the race. In particular, he played an important role in improving the movement of the Friesian horse. His breeding values for movement remain among the highest in the breed. The greatest impact on the breeding comes through his preferent son, Jasper 366, like his father, gained popularity through his excellent movement. In 1992, after an appropriate training, Marc Jansen continued Stoeterij Koningsland in a professional way. Marc is an absolute expert when it comes to knowledge about the bloodlines of the friesians. Sandra Verhoeven is working at stoeterij koningsland as a manager. She is a professional dressage rider and trains our horses in a friendly and consistant way. Sandra can tell you everything you want to know about our horses characters and personalities. Because of this good combination we have a huge knowledge and experience with the friesian breed.
