Over Stichting Painted Dog Conservation Foundation
The aim of the Dutch foundation PDC is to protect the painted dogs by means of action, information, communication, research and collaboration with other organisations. Protection of this social species is very urgent, since it is one of the most endangered carnivores in the whole of Africa. A population of approximately 500.000 painted dogs only 100 years ago has been reduced to approximately 6.600 today. The main threat to the dogs is men. The dogs die because of snares and fatal car collision.
