Stichting Memorabele Momenten Amsterdam (MEMO Amsterdam) brings performing arts to young children in their own trusted environments. MEMO stimulates early child development in a playful manner and enriches the children's daily lives.

Our interactive performances are an invitation, a challenge and an attractive opportunity for young children to engage with the talent in others. The diversity of the performers in terms of their talents and characters convey the implicit message that having talent is part of being human.

MEMO is an Amsterdam based organisation working with passionate (young) artists who receive training to perform at nurseries, pre-schools and primary schools. The (paid) work we offer is during the daytime and fits seamlessly into their professional lives. The children are introduced to many different music and dance styles, instruments, cultures and art forms performed by professional, often classically trained musicians, dancers and actors.

Company history:

Originally founded in 2005 by Max Brenman, the foundation provides and enriching service to the Early Childhood Education sector providing highly valued musical experiences for children of 0-6 years of age. Working with professional musicians and also talent from the Conservatorium of Amsterdam the project has grown over the years. In 2025 we will give our 100.000th performance to coincide with our 20 years existence! The organisation does not depend on subsidies thanks to the income it generates from more than 7.500 visits to groups of children per year in Amsterdam. A structural subsidy from AFK (2025-2028) will support the costs for non-commercial organisations who serve children attending publicly funded pre-schools throughout the city. Our office is inside a primary school, the El Khadisia 2, a literal and symbolic embedding of the project in a pre- and primary school environment.
