Founded in 2023, the Law and Research Network, or LARN, is a Netherlands-based non-profit research and policy institution dedicated to the pursuit of applied research within the domains of law, (geo)politics, conflict, and their intricate social dimensions. We are committed to upholding high standards of academic rigor, independence, and impartiality.

Our mission is to engage in a meticulous, critical, and scholarly examination of the key actors, events, and pivotal policy developments. We are focused on comprehending, scrutinizing, and interpreting the dynamic forces poised to continue shaping our global landscape, thereby illuminating the trajectory ahead with perspicacity and erudition. In pursuit of our mission, we aim to facilitate dialogues through seminars and webinars, platforming academics, experts, activists, and journalists in collaborative exploration.

LARN’s research efforts are focused on critical examination of topics that include:

Lawfare and human rights Contemporary wars and conflicts Geopolitics, dispute resolution and security Climate crisis Artificial intelligence and technology Migration Our main purpose would be to conduct policy analysis, commission research, documentation, and data visualisation; organise trainings workshop, seminars, public talks, webinars, and panel discussions; provide expert opinions, advocacy and litigation, legal awareness.
