Over Special Tribunal for Lebanon

The Special Tribunal for Lebanon is a tribunal of international character. It was inaugurated on 1 March 2009 and has four organs: Chambers, the Office of the Prosecutor, the Defence Office and the Registry.

The Tribunal’s primary mandate is to hold trials for the people accused of carrying out the attack of 14 February 2005 (which killed 22 people, including the former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, and injured many others), as well as those accused of connected attacks.

The STL is an independent, judicial organisation composed of Lebanese and international judges.

Le Tribunal spécial pour le Liban est un tribunal à caractère international. Il a été inauguré le 1er mars 2009 et se compose de quatre organes: les Chambres, le Bureau du Procureur, le Bureau de la Défense et le Greffe.

Sa mission principale est de poursuivre en justice les personnes accusées d’avoir perpétré l’attentat du 14 février 2005, qui a fait 22 morts, y compris l’ancien Premier ministre du Liban Rafic Hariri, et blessé de nombreuses autres personnes.

Le TSL est une organisation judiciaire indépendante composée de juges libanais et internationaux.
