Sparrow is a Christian organization, based in the Philippines. Sparrow provides people with practical and structural help which facilitates the escape from poverty and improvement of their standard of living. Our Christian background is a central aspect of all our projects, but we give help to all people regardless of their religious, political or ethnic backgrounds. In order to fight poverty Sparrow focuses on three topics: - empowerment: access to and control of local means, public services, participation in local policy making, etcetera; - security: reducing the vulnerability in the living environment of the poor and improving the capability to cope with 'shocks'​; - opportunity: access to income generating activities, education, health care and other factors which directly influence people's wellbeing. http://stichtingsparrow.nl/ (Ducth) http://sparrowfoundation.nl/ (English)
