Social Mavericks is a movement that fights poverty by empowering the powerless. Lasting social change occurs effectively, if people from poor & low-income communities become the driving force, while collaborating with others. Social Mavericks combines an online platform and offline events to bring people together from all walks of life. Social entrepreneurs, investors, business pro's, bankers, and politicians all give support. Ambitious people from disadvantaged communities register with us as WiserTribes. They compete for funding by adopting solutions that simultaneously fight poverty at home, school, work, community, and health-care. The solutions reduce the overwhelming stress and create new energy for new opportunities. Communities receive funding, but they Pay-It-Forward by helping other groups. Our mission is to create viral People-Powered Change.
