Smart Downhole Tools B.V. (SDT B.V.) is an emerging international company. Founded in Alkmaar, The Netherlands, SDT also has a major operating presence in North America headquartered in Houston, Texas. SDT maintains a core strategic principle that the company’s long term goal is to be a 100% employee owned. Our founders fundamentally believe that those who contribute to the success of the company should own it and grow with it.

SDT’s purpose is to help Exploration and Production (E&P) companies save time, reduce expenses and negative environmental, safety and health impacts in their drilling process by providing innovative hardware drilling technology. Economic and market analyst project that the E&P market will grow at 4.5% CAGR to reach $7.6 Trillion by 2025.

SDT’s Initial focus is on improving technology and the directional drilling processes. Our experienced scientists have invented technologies that will materially reduce the cost of directional drilling with positive displacement motors (PDM). SDT’s technology also reduces the environmental impact because it reduces the need to trip the drilling string in and out of the wellbore.
