Over SENSE the Society

SENSE is a non-profit society for English-language professionals in the Netherlands: editors, translators, writers, writing teachers, and such. We are 100% volunteer-powered!

SENSE: * Promotes English-language professionalism in the Netherlands and beyond * Helps English-language professionals meet the demands of a rapidly changing profession * Brings English-language professionals into contact with each other * Encourages communication between societies and institutions involved in publishing informational, commercial, technical, and academic material in the English language * Organizes public professional development activities such as conferences, trainings, workshops, networking events, and SIGs * Publishes a regular blog and curates information on social media on issues relevant to English-language professionals * Maintains a searchable registry of English-language professional freelancers in the Netherlands * Provides a resource network of skills, specializations, and experience * Has an online forum where members discuss issues of concern * Provides mentoring for English-language professionals
