Noroc – or as we say, cheers!

Roemwijn imports and promotes unique, high-quality wines from Romania—directly from winemakers. Romania is a hidden gem in the world of wine, and it’s my mission to introduce Dutch wine lovers to its rich traditions, indigenous grape varieties, and award-winning wines.

A personal passion, turned into a small business I'm Cristina Andriescu, born and raised in Romania and living in the Netherlands since 1990. Alongside my work as a senior freelance marketing advisor, I started Roemwijn to share the wines of my homeland. My journey began in 2013 after completing WSET Levels 2 and 3, and I’ve been captivated ever since by the depth and quality of Romanian wines.

As a child, I spent summers in Cotnari, one of Romania’s most renowned wine regions. Surrounded by vineyards, I learned early on that wine is a labor of love, patience, and deep respect for nature. Roemwijn is my way of sharing that love—inviting you to discover the hidden treasures of Romanian wine.
