Over REDD+ Business Initiative

Deforestation within tropical regions, which accounts for 12% of global CO2 emissions, must be halted to counter climate change and safeguard biodiversity. The UN's REDD+ strategy, highlighted in Article 5 of the Paris Agreement, provides a pivotal solution to this challenge. We view REDD+ as the most effective large-scale approach to curtail tropical deforestation. However, there's a delay in its implementation. Thus, the REDD+ Business Initiative (RBI) is stepping in early, uniting businesses to bolster REDD+ efforts. Our results are tangible and immediate, showcasing the strength of collaboration.

Our Mission RBI is a not-for-profit platform that aids businesses in balancing their inescapable emissions through forest credits, assisting them in swiftly reaching emission reduction goals, such as carbon neutrality.

In doing so, we champion the preservation of pristine rainforests for their significant CO2 absorption ability, their rich biodiversity, and the invaluable ecosystem benefits they offer to both local and international populations. To amplify our influence, we prioritize educating the business community and the general populace about the potential of REDD+, facilitating corporate participation, and urging governments to recognize and back corporate endeavors.
