Over PIONEER - Big Data in Prostate Cancer

PIONEER is a European Network of Excellence for Big Data in Prostate Cancer, consisting of 32 partners across 9 countries. Our goal is to ensure the optimal care for all European men living with prostate cancer by unlocking the potential of Big Data and Big Data analytics.

PIONEER's objective is to standardise and integrate existing ‘big data’ from high-quality multidisciplinary data sources into a single innovative data platform. This will result in a unique and comprehensive data set that consists of the most relevant prostate cancer clinical trials and registries, large epidemiological cohorts, electronic health records, and real-world data from different European and non-European patient populations. PIONEER researchers will then apply different analytic methods to this data to answer the most important prostate cancer questions as prioritised by clinicians, patients, researchers, pharmaceutical industry representatives, and payers.

PIONEER is funded through the IMI2 Joint Undertaking and is listed under grant agreement No. 777492. This joint undertaking receives support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and EFPIA.
