At PortX we think, talk and breathe maritime port operations, not only because we like the smell of diesel and seawater. We also believe global ports offer endless opportunities to innovate and improve the efficiency of their operations, simply by letting the data speak for themselves. ​ PortX is a JV built on the maritime operational experience of KOTUG International and the big data analytical capabilities of Marana.

Years ago we had the idea that AIS data could bring so much more than just the position and speed of a vessel. We started to store and process the AIS position data in our databases and over the years we gradually gained experience in what value could be generated when convert data into information. In the meantime we mixed in maritime experience and further refined our algorithms which made them capable to take the most complex decisions in highly dynamic operational environments.

As a result port operations are no longer a secret to us. We know exactly what vessel took bunkers, we know what, where and how much a vessel has been loading. On top of that we know ETA's and ETD's and all that information allows you to take better real-time decisions on how you could optimally make use of your assets.
