The OOA provides an inspiring training and supervision program to PhD candidates and fosters a collaborative community of scholars, researchers and clinicians who are dedicated to advancing our understanding of cancer and developing new therapies to improve patient care

Evolving technologies are creating new possibilities in the field of oncology. Treatments are becoming more precise and personalized. Advanced (research) techniques break new ground. As a result, PhD candidates in oncology require an increasing amount of knowledge and skills to provide a solid start of their career. To help and inspire our PhD candidates to become groundbreaking professionals, the OOA – a fruitful cooperation between Amsterdam UMC Cancer Center Amsterdam and Netherlands Cancer Institute - is offering a growing number of courses and activities. These are organized in collaboration with expert in the field from both institutions as well as (inter)national professionals.
