The Nedworc Foundation (NWF) is an organisation for independent consultants working in international development cooperation. NWF ensures these consultants of adequate social insurance, handling their tax liabilities, and other services that allow them to focus their attention on their work's content rather than on their contracts' financial, administrative and legal aspects.

Though NWF formally employs the consultants, they remain independent in deciding which assignments to take on and what conditions they are willing to accept. Also, they are financially independent of the other NWF employees.

NWF handles around 250 assignments per year for about 100 individual consultants. On average, NWF has more than 100 different (inter)national clients and donors per year, including International Funding Institutions, UN agencies, EU/EC, private sector enterprises and smaller- and large NGO's, including those co-financed by the Government of the Netherlands.

NWF's services include handling all administrative and financial aspects of the contract with the client wishing to engage a specific consultant's service (s). NWF gives advice to consultants on fees and other contract conditions and supports technically on how to prepare successful tender bids.

The duration of the assignments varies from several days to even six years and cover a wide variety of fields of expertise as well as direct technical- and managerial support for on-going programmes and projects as research, desk studies, proposal preparation, mid-term and final evaluations. Geographically, the consultants work on every single continent in countries in development or transition.
