The NBIP offers small, medium and large Internet and VoIP providers an on-demand service to combat DDoS attacks in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe. This enables individual ISPs or VoIP providers to avoid large investments and access more powerful weapons to fend off DDoS attacks.

DDoS attacks have not just grown in number in recent years; their scale has increased too. This has led to more and more companies joining the NBIP. And the more members we have, the more robust and cheaper our solutions become. Because we are a non-profit organization, established by providers for providers.

The NBIP now protects more than 45% of Dutch Internet domains.

The NBIP possesses powerful, reliable hardware, and our experienced engineers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Traffic from an attacked provider is routed past our equipment for a thorough “scrub”, after which the provider receives the clean traffic back over a separate VLAN.

About the NBIP The NBIP was established in 2002 by a group of Internet service providers, as an institute for implementing lawful interception warrants as stipulated in the Dutch Telecommunications Act. Since then, the organization has become a reliable institution with a growing number of members. NBIP offers the well-known NaWas, one of the largest anti-DDoS systems in Europe.

The NBIP attaches great importance to sharing knowledge. We conduct surveys, speak at events, inform members regularly about new developments, and organize meetings where members can swap their experiences.

In addition, the NBIP consults closely with the government on its areas of interest.
