Wouldn’t it be great to have a bespoke mediator matching service – tailor-made to fit the users’ needs, without all the costs and limitations associated with institutional mediation?

Mundi Mediatores (MM) is a network of top-tier international commercial mediators, supported by the International Mediation Institute (IMI). It is an initiative to assist commercial parties in finding the best mediators for each case, based on the specific procedural and subject-matter related needs of the disputants.

We aim to provide shortlists of highly recommended, qualified and suitably experienced IMI-certified mediators to disputants seeking to resolve complex commercial disputes.

Why Mundi Mediatores? Mediation stakeholders are seeking diversity in the person of the mediator and users are also seeking diversity of mediation practice models. Besides experience and ethical conduct of the mediator, users view industry/issue-specific knowledge or subject matter expertise of mediators as very important (89%), however only 56% are satisfied with their mediator in this respect.

IMI's certification scheme recognises that mediators approach their practice in diverse ways. MM will connect users with diversity in the choice of mediators as well as mediation practice models and subject-matter expertise.

The goal of MM is to create a modern global service that promotes transparency, alignment of expectations, and fair compensation for all parties involved, while at the same time allowing early case assessment and tailored process design that are best suited for the particularities of each dispute and the procedural and outcome-related preferences of the disputants. We believe that there is a need for a reliable cross-border service that can match parties with the most suitable mediators.
