Over MentalHealth4All

MentalHealth4All is a European initiative offering a digital, multilingual and inclusive platform to support migrants and refugees in finding — and professionals in delivering — language- and culture-sensitive mental healthcare.

Mental health issues (such as stress, worries, anxiety, or grief) affect 1 in 8 people (about 84 million people in total) across the EU. Refugees and migrants are particularly at risk of developing mental health problems due to stressors they encounter before, during, and after their migration process. For instance, they more often experience posttraumatic stress and psychotic disorders compared to non-migrant populations. Still, receiving care for these problems can be difficult, especially if they do not speak the dominant language of their host country.

The project was funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) of the European Commission. In this project, 13 partners from 9 European countries collaborated in the development and evaluation of the MentalHealth4All platform: a multilingual, culturally-sensitive, evidence-based digital information and communication platform focused on mental health and mental healthcare. This platform aims to reduce the negative impact of linguistic and cultural barriers in accessing mental healthcare services for refugees and migrants.
