Over Marmoris

Marmoris is a Dutch Earth observation company. We use satellite data and geoinformation science to to support organisations responsible for coastal and marine environments in their planning, decision making, and monitoring.

Coastal waters store carbon, sustain biodiversity, and underpin every coastal economy, yet they remain among the least monitored places on the planet. Satellites revisit the same stretch of coast again and again, in conditions a survey vessel cannot always reach.

Examples of created value Planning -> establish what has changed over time, and where, before committing to a site or a monitoring programme. Monitoring-> habitat health and extent, biodiversity, water quality, turbidity, chlorophyll, and surface temperature across areas far wider than in-situ sensors can cover alone. Detecting -> early signals of harmful algal blooms, ecological stress, and habitat change, while there is still time to respond. Proving -> defensible, time-stamped baselines grounded in the BACI design used in regulatory environmental work.

Who we work with Offshore energy developers and the consultancies running their environmental programmes. Conservation organisations, governments, and funders. Aquaculture and fisheries operators and regulators.

Why Marmoris Most environmental data providers specialise either in satellite monitoring or in marine ecology,. We work in that gap. Our methodology is developed with academic partners. Our key stakeholders and end-users are our co-creation partners.

Alumnus of ESA BIC Noordwijk and the Copernicus Accelerator. Projects running in the Netherlands, the Dutch Caribbean, and Mexico.
