Over LIFE CRITICAL

Climate Resilience Through Involvement of loCAL citizens (LIFE CRITICAL) is an EU LIFE-funded programme that works with communities to harnesses the potential of existing local parks for climate adaptation.

Working with the locals of Dordrecht (NL) and Bradford (UK), this project is transforming two green spaces and building stronger, more resilient and connected communities.

This hands-on approach not only boosts the impact of adaptation efforts but also deepens local ties and ramps up support for climate action. What sets this LIFE project apart is its thorough monitoring programme, providing clear proof of how these adaptation measures are enhancing neighbourhood life.

A core mission of the project is to share the insights gathered within, offering a practical playbook for other cities eager to pursue similar initiatives. Ghent (BE) and Bergen (NO) are already lined up to be the first cities to tests these results and fine-tune our replication guidelines.
