Over IRBC - International Responsible Business Conduct

The Dutch Social and Economic Council (SER) has a great deal of knowledge and experience in helping companies with the practical application of guidelines in the field of international responsible business conduct (IRBC). The SER also promotes the establishment of (European) sector agreements, so that companies, together with their stakeholders, identify risks in their supply chains and prevent and tackle abuses for people, animals and the environment.

The SER facilitates IRBC agreements in various sectors. These are multi-stakeholder collaborations between companies, trade unions, NGOs and the government. They work together to implement IRBC through the process of due diligence.

The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, together with the United Nations Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), form the framework for IRBC. The guidelines also include the core labour standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
