Founded in 1954, the International Vocal Competition ’s-Hertogenbosch (IVC) is one of Europe’s leading platforms for classical singing and vocal talent development. Based in the Netherlands and internationally oriented, IVC connects emerging singers with artistic leaders, educators, and audiences worldwide.

IVC is the only international vocal competition in the Netherlands that structurally brings together opera, oratorio, art song, music theatre, and contemporary vocal repertoire. Alongside technical excellence, the organisation places strong emphasis on artistic individuality, versatility, interpretation, and professional relevance.

IVC operates through a portfolio of interconnected programmes. Opera | Oratorio combines operatic and concert repertoire with a strong commitment to 20th- and 21st-century music, including newly commissioned works. Theatre in Song explores song as music theatre, focusing on storytelling, staging, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Song in the City brings high-quality vocal performance into public space, reaching new audiences beyond the concert hall. Through the IVC Singer Sessions, singers take part in masterclasses, workshops, and professional training led by internationally renowned artists and experts.
