The world stage is more dynamic and interconnected than ever, and public professionals are beset by wicked problems that challenge a state´s prosperity. International Public Policy & Leadership (IPPL) responds to this challenge, aiming to equipping it´s graduates with a skill set cultivated to make effective changemakers. IPPL builds a strong foundation upon our 5 professional competencies :

🌍Advocacy 🌍Advising 🌍Organising & Managing 🌍Project-Based Working 🌍Evaluating

The combination of these 5 positions students to work effectively in multiple areas in the public and private sectors as practical idealists – finding tangible and actionable solutions with a critical and reflective attitude towards society. Many students go on to do a master’s degree or enter seamlessly into professional life.

Years 1&2 at IPPL focus on building a strong theoretical base of knowledge learned practically and collaboratively throughout. A mix of individual & group assignments, along with more typical examinations give students a variety of challenges to overcome that already reflect the modern working environment. Topics such as economics, international law, sociology and public management are understood through multiple lenses to provide students with a variety of perspectives, whatever the problem.

Year 3 switches it up with a flexible structure and specialization, Students now choose where they would like to hone their development. This takes the shape of a choice of minor courses, an internship and a study placement abroad.

Year 4 continues with an internship and professional product development in place of a traditional Thesis. Graduates leave IPPL with a strong network of contacts in sectors of interest, real-world work experience and a professional portfolio ready to show employers.
