Over Intelligent Vehicles group

The Intelligent Vehicles group at TU Delft works towards increasing the safety, comfort and sustainability of transportation by means of automated driving. We conduct problem-driven research within the interdisciplinary spectrum of machine perception, dynamics and control, and human factors. Our focus lies on complex (urban) traffic scenarios, on challenging vehicle driving manoeuvres and on the interaction of self-driving vehicles with humans.

The Intelligent Vehicles group is part of the Cognitive Robotics department, which in turn is part of the Mechanical Engineering faculty at TU Delft. The group currently contains 6 faculty staff, 2 technical support staff and a number of (Post) Doctoral researchers. It is headed by Dariu Gavrila.
