IGES Amsterdam develops ‘Plastic to oil’ projects using innovative but proven technology. The first project will be developed in the Port of Amsterdam. Construction has started. IGES Amsterdam uses plastic feedstock that is polluted in such a way that it is not suited for mechanical recycling. These plastics will be transformed into a low-sulphur diesel. In IGES Amsterdam first project approx.. 35.000 tons of plastics will be transformed into 30 million litres of diesel annually. Besides the Diesel, chemicals will be produced which will be used for the production of plastics; Chemical recycling.
