Informiz - Go Fund Me Campaign

Staying connected has never been easier, thanks to the internet and social media. However, we have discovered that this comes with a price to pay. Opinions are not facts, but they can often be confused with facts, and disinformation and fabricated news can spread like wildfire across platforms.

That’s where Informiz comes in.

We are a not for profit organisation based out of The Netherland, and we aim to fact-check every piece of information on the internet. To put it simply, we are on a mission to provide reliable and accurate, fact-checked information.

The most recent example is when in the wake of the global pandemic the news query “Does hydroxychloroquine cure COVID-19” started trending. Such information is not only wrong but it is dangerous to people who might believe it, and then try to self medicate.

How Informiz works

It can be hard to tell fact from fiction, and also to what degree you can trust sources. To promote public discussion based in facts, Informiz has developed a software that allows fact checkers from across the world to collaborate in verifying factual claims, giving users immediate access to reliable information.

Where the funds go

The funds we raise in this campaign are going to be used for setting up an Informiz channel at the University of Ghana. The more we raise - the more channels we can set up for additional organizations.

Development of NLP (Natural Language Processing) and other machine learning algorithms for automatic scoring and even fact-checking.

Continue Research & Development to boost speed and accuracy, and develop further tools and services for fact checkers, readers, developers, and data scientists
