Over HERI - Higher Education Research AND Innovation

The university-wide research group Higher Education, Research & Innovation (HERI), led by Professor Didi Griffioen, works to understand and strengthen the connections between higher education, research, and professional practice. We pursue this through both foundational and applied research, innovation, and collaboration with partners across disciplines—always starting from the perspective of higher education practice.

HERI adds a complementary perspective to the disciplinary and professional focus of higher education by concentrating on higher education itself. Given its complexity, meaningful change requires a multi-layered approach. This is reflected in our work across different levels: the individual (student, staff, professional), the group (curriculum, research), the faculty, the organisation, and (inter)national policy.
