Healthy Lives is a new health and fitness company that wants to turn the dieting world upside down.

Most diets reduce healthy nutrition to a calorie balance sheet. As long as you eat less calories than you use, you'll lose weight. But food is primarily about getting essential nutrients. If you eat fewer calories but keep eating modern foods with a low nutrient density, you'll never be satisfied and your body will keep craving food. Then, when you try to burn off as many calories as you can in your hour at the gym, you trigger your sugar appetite even more. You can keep this up for a few days or maybe weeks, but in the end your sugar cravings will always win out over your willpower.

At Healthy Lives, we turn this upside down. You should not eat less, but more. More nutritious food to replace the empty calories you are eating now. This way, you will be naturally satisfied and less likely to overeat. Similarly, you should stop going all out in the gym once a week and adopt a more gradual daily exercise rhythm. We'll start you off with a 30 minute walk every day and proceed from there.
