Haarlem4Ukraine is a volunteer initiative set up by private individuals in response to the war in Ukraine. We are not affiliated to any political, religious or other body.

Our services and activities are focused on achieving three things: ̶ Assisting Ukrainian refugees currently living in Haarlem ̶ Bringing Haarlem’s Dutch and foreign residents together with the Ukrainian community, to create a positive shared experience ̶ Providing life-saving medical equipment to doctors in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro

Our local refugee assistance ranges from providing appropriate childcare and ways for children to continue their education to helping adults navigate Dutch systems for healthcare and other services. We also organise talks and psychological/coaching support groups for a wide range of topics, social activities, and offer language lessons for Dutch and English.

To help bring refugee and local communities together, we also provide Ukrainian language lessons and organise activities which are suitable for all to join in with. And, of course, we welcome involvement from local Haarlem residents, of every nationality, as volunteers.

Due to some of our founding members’ family ties in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, we are in direct contact with doctors who are treating the war-wounded there every day. They are desperately short of medical equipment, and we are striving to get this to them. We do this by purchasing equipment (through donated funds) and arranging the logistics to get this to where it’s needed.
