Over Foundation EMC

Unfortunately, in some countries, people with a mental disorder (Down Syndrome) are being mistreated by society. They are being locked up, bullied, ignored and in most cases physically harassed. Foundation EMC is trying to help these people, especially the children, by providing a safe haven where they can be a child again; where they can learn and play, but more importantly, we are preparing these children to perform in society.

Our foundation is operating from the Netherlands and we are helping children in Afghanistan. We started off with 40 children with a mental disorder, had them tested, and divided them into groups. After a year, due to great success, we multiplied the number of children to 80. Our approach, which we learned by studies, is to educate by using sound and visualization material.

With all the effort we've been putting into these children, we can say that our work is paying off. The children are showing immense growth on different subjects (reading, talking, creativity) and our work didn't stay unnoticed; we hit the media multiple times in Afghanistan receiving a lot of positive comments. By now, we have thousands of applications from parents who wants their child to be able to participate in society. However as the government isn't helping us currently, we can't accept more children as our financial resources won't let us.

Our only hope, therefore, is our society. We are hoping that you are willing to help these children, because like every other child, they should be able to grow up going to school and play.
