Federatie Antilliaanse Jeugdzorg (FAJ) is a dynamic non-profit umbrella organization dedicated to the positive development of children and youth in the ages of 0-24. Founded in 1952, FAJ has been working tirelessly for over 70 years promoting the well-being of children and youth. As an umbrella organization, FAJ supports (member) organizations in Curaçao, Bonaire, Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius, and Saba in conducting daily activities and setting up new projects and initiatives for the children and youth.

FAJ encourages cooperation between organizations within the children’s and youth field and creates productive exchanges between non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and governmental organizations (GOs) and among NGOs themselves. With a large network within the children’s and youth field and a good relationship with funders and sponsors, FAJ also takes on the roles of watchdog and intermediary between potential sponsors and affiliated member organizations.

FAJ also provides the following assistance programs: 1) YAVE, which is an assistance program within FAJ since 2007, for socially vulnerable young people between the ages 10-24. YAVE is an abbreviation of 'Yudansa Alternativo pa un Vishon Eksitoso'. ‘YAVE’ also means friend. YAVE clients are supported at home, at school or in other institutions by a team that is always available. 2) LVB Knowledge Center, which collects, transfers, develops knowledge and skills regarding people with a ‘Licht Verstandelijke Beperking’ (Mild Intellectual Disability).

As a non-profit organization, FAJ relies on the support and collaboration of individuals, businesses, and philanthropic organizations that share our vision for a better future for children and youth in the ages of 0-24.
