Over EcoEcho

EcoEcho is a design-based educational platform that helps young people transform ecological anxiety into ecological literacy and creative agency. Developed in Rotterdam and expanding between the Netherlands and Brazil, it combines storytelling, sensory awareness, ecology, and hands-on design practices.

The methodology has been implemented at Rotterdam International Secondary School (RISS), where students explore multispecies relationships and urban biodiversity through illustrated narratives, collaborative games, biomimicry workshops, and resilient garden projects.

EcoEcho responds to a growing challenge: many children feel overwhelmed or disconnected when facing climate change. Rather than teaching ecology abstractly, the process begins with attunement and observation, moves into experimentation and prototyping, and concludes with collective reflection.

By integrating design-based learning and ecological storytelling, EcoEcho fosters resilience, interdependence, and future-oriented thinking.
