Over Dutch Light Design

Light visualizes your product, your work and the world around you. A good light design emphasizes it's architectural space and creates the right ambiance. "What do we want to achieve with light?" is the basic question I start with. No place is the same, so there is no standard light solution for any place. It makes no difference if the architectural space is a shop, museum, office building or a city center, if you want the right ambiance you need to customise the lighting plan. A conceptual approach and a taylor-made light vision are requirered for a succesful result. A well thought out lighting plan makes the difference, not the (brand of) fixtures used in the project. If a standard fixture offers the right solution it will be proposed in the lighting plan. But I do not limit myself to use only standard light fixtures. If customized or specially designed light fixtures, based upon the client's requirements, maximize the architectural concept, they can be encorporated in the lighting plan.   Specific project goals form the boundaries in which the light plan is shaped. For every project I seek the optimal result within the budget. Durability is always taken into account, but is never goal on it's own. Good interaction between the people involved, from the design phase till the completion of the project is needed to achieve the optimal result.
