De Hoeksesluis is a novel business approach to nature, care and recreation issues with an experimental character in the area of the Krimpenerwaard. De Hoeksesluis was a traditional milkfarm since 1926. Piet de Bruijn inherited the company in 1985 from his dad at the age of 17. Unfurtunately he couldn't be a milkfarmer anymore because the company was to small to survive. He decided to start a carefarm with his wife Ewa de Bruijn in 2008, and to combine it with organic livestock. Nowadays Piet and Ewa manage120 hectare of nature for the nature care foundation Zuid- Hollands Landschap. The cows they have are the grazers. The productive muck of the cows goes back into nature to form a closed circle into nature. The cliënts, volunteers and trainees in the company are helping into the nature. They take care of the animals, plants, and help to organize parties and other meetings. The company wants to create a meaningful care and nature experience for all the people who are present in the company, and the people who visit the company. Fun and socializing are important values ​​within the company.
