UPDATE 01/09/2020: DAEDALUS has been put on pause for the time being. It was started by a group of students during their BSc, however combining the project with the studies was found to be difficult. The intention is to revive the project in a few years, once all co-founders have more time.

ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION Movement of people or goods are getting more and more challenging. Road saturation and traffic jams make it difficult to predict travel times. Lack of road infrastructures or ecological disasters may make ground locomotion impossible. These problems require out of the box thinking, as they get increasingly difficult to solve.

Daedalus’ is convinced that transportation has to go to the third dimension to solve those problems. In areas with congested roads or inaccessible locations, we see flight as an ideal mode of transport for persons, goods or packages. Being independent of the road and the ground will make a day or night difference logistically. In certain applications, the predictability and precision of such a mode of transport can make the difference between life or death.

With a first small-scale proof of concept tested, Daedalus is currently working hard on the design of a heavy payload carrying drone. The recent evolution of aviation and drone industries make us confident that the technology is ready.
