Over Cultural Heritage & Plantscape Research

In tune with the reach compliance archaeology, compliance environmental studies and socio-environmental heritage initiatives have, we aim to provide fresh palaeoethnobotanical and archaeological choices and perspectives allowing our customers in the Netherlands and around the world to agilely articulate an important part of their services with public awareness toward issues of cultural and environmental heritage, and other present and future socio-environmental concerns. Therefore, beyond providing new data and information with which compliance archaeology and compliance environmental studies expectations are met and even exceeded, our goal is that this optimised perspective would be able to simultaneously offer new knowledge to help with establishing better informed public policies in three key areas: the use and management of the environment, the use and appreciation of the archaeological, historical, environmental heritages, and the use and design of sustainable food systems better adapted to changing climate effects, which is needed for improving the well-being of present and future generations.

Our main services and products are distributed within the following categories: (a) specialised palaeoethnobotanical studies of archaeological artefacts and sediments by means of starch grains and phytoliths, (b) socio-environmental heritage research advice, design and implementation based on phytoliths and related multiproxy approaches, (c) academic and professional teaching/research support, including expert advice to universities, curatorial institutions (museums, herbariums, botanic gardens) and civil society organisations, and (d) full archaeological compliance solutions for Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, other Caribbean islands, and the rest of the Americas.
