1. What is Commerly?

Commerly is an open, evolving design system made for eCommerce creators. It’s focused on real eCommerce products — marketplaces, storefronts, dashboards — not generic UI for everything and nothing.

The goal is to create a practical, modular system that can actually be used in real projects, not just showcased in Figma files.

2. Why this project exists

I’ve always been drawn to design systems. Over time, my team and I built our own internal system and used it across multiple projects, gradually improving it as we gained experience.

When we started working on an eCommerce marketplace, we quickly realized how hard it was to find a design system that truly fit our needs. Most options were either too generic or tightly locked to a specific platform.

When that marketplace project came to an end, I decided to continue the part that worked best — and turn that experience into Commerly, instead of letting all that work disappear.

3. Current stage

Right now, Commerly is in a foundational phase. I’m rebuilding and refining the core — layouts, components, tokens, and structure — to make sure the system has a solid base before expanding further.

Releases are public and free. The focus at this stage is quality, clarity, and long-term usability rather than speed or feature count.

4. What’s next

Once the foundation is solid, Commerly will gradually expand with more eCommerce-specific components, patterns, and use cases.

Over time, I’d also like to involve the community more closely — sharing decisions, ideas, and experiments as the system grows.

No rushed promises, just steady progress.
