The Center for Military Operational Analyses - or CMOA for short - is a project from the Netherlands which educate those who are interested in military related topics.

The 21st century has seen such revolutionary advancements in weapon systems, optics, load bearing equipment, technology, and personal equipment that the uniformity which has historically stood at the center of the strength of armies, is now becoming a liability.

COTS, or Commercially available Off-The-Shelf products, are becoming the most modern source of equipment by soldiers. Whereas an entire soldier's kit would historically be provided by the military up until about the turn of the century, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan saw Western soldiers buying substitutes for their issued gear from the commercial market. Products range from little things such as rifle slings all the way up to commercial plate carriers, chest rigs, parka's, and hearing protection. Even software for navigation or the maintenance of vehicles have found their way into soldier's hands in the 21st century.

The CMOA additionally also seeks to inform readers on military history, tactics, and, philosophies.
