A platform for the promotion and collaboration of Vocational and Trade school Education in the Caribbean

The following key components have been established: A. Creating an online platform (www.c-vet.com) to share knowledge and meet vocational professionals. B. Organize conferences / meetings / workshops

It goes without saying that organizing conferences/meetings and/or workshops together is financially attractive. After the 1st Trade School Conference on Sint Maarten in November 2016, the stakeholders are ready to take the next step, to determine what needs to be done in order to continue to learn from each other. Joining workshops that are organized on Sint Maarten and St. Eustatius or Saba are a first step. The workshops etc. will be mentioned on the website and stakeholders can enroll. Additionally, a conference will be held yearly on the three islands.

C. Job shadowing for (students), teacher exchange and sharing of knowledge on every level including managerial and board

D. Branding C-VET

To have more students enrolled, the following will be done: - Improve career & guidance in the secondary schools, revise curricula to improve the positive aspects of vocational education; - Promote vocational subjects in the lower school; - Develop career material for the primary schools; - Collaborate with primary schools to teach primary school students in vocational & trade schools as part of their Primary Education Curriculum; - Develop individual learning routes for students (NIPA/EYCS/Region/Netherlands/…) - Conduct a positive PR-Campaign in collaboration with ROA CN, Chamber of Commerce, and the three islands specifically for the islands, showcase specific students (eg. girls in tech etc) , also using modern social media.
