Over Buddho.org

Buddho.org (Stichting Buddho) is a Dutch nonprofit foundation dedicated to samatha meditation on buddho, a traditional Theravāda Buddhist meditation system, and to the translation and preservation of Theravāda Buddhist teachings.

Our meditation guidance is rooted in a direct teaching lineage: our teacher, Herman Schreuder, was formally appointed as a meditation teacher in 1998 by Ahba (Luang Por Opart Obhāso), abbot of Wat Chong Kham Phra Aram Luang, a royal monastery in Lampang, Northern Thailand.

All guidance is offered on a donation basis; the foundation has no paid staff.

Buddho.org publishes a growing digital Theravāda library — translated works by teachers including Ajahn Chah, Bhikkhu Bodhi, Ṭhānissaro Bhikkhu, Nyanaponika Thera, and Mahasi Sayadaw — alongside original articles on samatha meditation and Buddhist philosophy, in Dutch and English.
