Last year, I read the book ‘The Regrets of the Dying’, written by Bronnie Ware. She has supported many terminally ill patients in their last 12 weeks of their lives. She wholeheartedly shares her experiences in her memoir, and most importantly, she has distilled the 5 most common regrets of the dying.

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me. 2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard. 3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings. 4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends. 5. I wish I had let myself be happier.

During their last days on this world, nobody reported they regret they didn't work more, made that promotion or made more money.

I have battled burn-out, grief and depression. I have held the hand of my BFF while she took her last breaths. I have taken the hardest decision of my life in 2021. I have broken my own heart to heal my soul. I have learned how to be my own best friend forever.
