BOLD is a specialised lighting design studio for museums, exhibitions, high-end architectural projects and immersive environments.

We, Pelle Herfst and Erik de Wildt, are a small, high-quality design duo capable of delivering large and complex projects through our direct involvement and attention to detail. With a background in theatre and film, we bring a refined sensitivity to atmosphere and precision. We draw on the lighting disciplines from the worlds we come from, allowing us to give spaces a cinematic quality or illuminate architecture with a theatrical vision and vice versa.

Our strength lies in lighting that adds meaning: subtle, precise and fully integrated into architecture and scenography. We combine artistic sensitivity with technical expertise, from the first concept sketch to the final focus moment.

Our work ranges from international museum galleries to exclusive architectural projects and media-driven experiences, always with careful attention to nuance, shadow and narrative. We collaborate globally with architects, experience studios and construction teams to bring spaces to life with lighting that tells a story.
