Over ARQ International

ARQ International strengthens mental health and psychosocial support through capacity building, development and dissemination of expertise through the implementation of programmes in (post-)conflict areas. We develop and evaluate new methods in close cooperation with (local) partner organisations ensuring the inclusion of cultural and context aspects as well as long term sustainability.

Research and development We conduct research to develop and adapt mental health and psychosocial interventions and to assess current mental health needs and gaps. We do this in close collaboration with universities, research institutions and implementing organisations worldwide.

Capacity strengthening We develop expertise and skills on MHPSS together with professionals and non-professionals who support people affected by conflict and disaster. Our training trajectories are tailor made and needs based and can include staff care.

Knowledge sharing and awareness raising Throughout our work we raise awareness about the importance of mental health and psychosocial wellbeing for individuals, communities and societies. We aim to bridge the gap between research and practice.

Intervention, our peer reviewed journal of mental health & psychosocial support in conflict affected areas, provides a platform where researchers, policy makers and field practitioners meet to share their knowledge and experience.
