Over Arcadis Shelter Program

The Shelter Program is the partnership between Arcadis and UN-Habitat aimed at a common goal: to improve the quality of life of citizens in rapidly growing cities around the world.

Arcadians can share their pro bono knowledge and expertise to find solutions for global urbanization issues in the field of infrastructure, environment and water.

Lovinklaan supports Shelter by funding Arcadians that go on missions.

On request of UN-Habitat through the Shelter program since 2010 more than 100 technical support missions have been organized in Asia, Africa and Middle/South-America. Technical support is provided on sustainable urban planning, climate adaptation, flood management, mobility, environment, energy, waste management and all other issues which are important to develop better cities. Moreover the Shelter program provides support for recovery after disasters, such as after the earthquakes in Haiti, Ecuador and Nepal and after typhoons in The Philippines.
