Over Aga Aga studios

Aga Aga is a studio and collective of sound designers, foley artists, film editors and location sound mixers, located in the north of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, founded in 2022 by Jaim Sahuleka, Alex Booy, and Huibert Boon.

Our work focuses mainly on arthouse feature films and documentaries, both international coproductions and Dutch productions. Recent titles include feature film Amoeba (official selection TIFF 2025), Monikondee (IDFA 2025, Awarded at Cinéma du Réel 2025), Half Moon (IFFR 2025), and Where Dragons Live (IDFA 2024).

If it is appropriate and desirable for a project, we can also work on a film or series as a team. In any case, we have so much expertise in-house that we can take on any type of project. We also have extensive experience in sound design for podcasts and installations for museums. Anyone who wants to surround themselves with creative and solution-oriented team workers will find an inspiring workplace at Aga Aga.

Aga Aga is home to a full-service audio post-production facility, equipped with a 10 x 7 x 4 meter cinema room for Dolby Atmos mixing, several additional mixing studios, an ADR/voice-over suite, and a foley studio. We cover all kinds of services from audio conform all the way to re-recording mix and everything in between. Our studios are available to rent per hour or day for producers and directors already working with a sound designer, or sound designers who already are working with a client but are looking for a space to mix.

In addition to sound post-production, we also offer cinema-quality DCP checks (7.1 or 5.1 surround sound, Barco DP-90 2K cinema projector BEAMER SPECS).
