After my studies at the Art Academy in 1993, where I was trained as a sculptor, I became increasingly interested in photography. During my studies, I learned how to observe and I was given the opportunity to approach things in a different way than self-evident. For me, an important part of photography is portraying a story by leaving things out. Being aware of what you do and don't see and creating new insights by isolating experiences. Without neglecting the viewer, looking for frameworks that reinforce an image or message and understanding what the client has in mind. The images on this website are predominantly commissioned. Assignments for (landscape) architects where I show how space and environment work together and visually enhance their ideas. Since 2010, I have been working a lot for museums. Various assignments such as photographing paintings with the Preservation Imaging Metamorfoze and the FADGI Technical Guidelines for Digitizing Cultural Heritage Materials, a technique that requires a mathematical approach or showing the properties of fabrics in garments by playing with different light sources. These are special assignments, each with its own specific approach. I ensure that I am always aware of the latest technical possibilities that meet the wishes of my clients. But no matter how good the technology is, looking closely and observing is the key and that gives me the most job satisfaction.
