Over Aarde-Werk de Stegge

Aarde-Werk de Stegge is an organic permaculture farm and practical training school for sustainability in the Netherlands, just outside Winterswijk. Situated on two hectares of rich and biodiverse land, the farm consists of an organic vegetable and herb garden, a small food forest, an orchard, a meadow and ponds, providing a year-round bounty of organic food, construction material and medicinal supplies. One of the main goals of Aarde-Werk de Stegge is to create an optimum production surplus, while maintaining a feasible balance between producing and consuming in closed cycles.

De Stegge offers an inspiring place where young people from all over the world can connect with each other, the natural environment and with their inner motivations. The volunteers that stay on the farm for a longer or shorter time, develop a lifestyle with sustainable techniques, in balance with nature.

Our activities are supported by the European Union, through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), sponsors, supporters and other programs.
