Over A van Wees distillery De Ooievaar

The ancient family company 'A. van Wees distillery de Ooievaar’ - located in the core of Amsterdam - arises in 1782. Until 1970 we delivered our products on casks to bars and restaurants. Despite increased industrialization and the diminishing quality of the Dutch cultural inheritance, we decided to stick to our traditional assortment and started selling our products in stone and glass bottles. Up till now, our high-quality genevers and liqueurs are produced according to authentic family recipes in fine kettles and aged in oak barrels. At this very moment the distillery is owned by Ms. Fenny van Wees, who runs the business with a small loyal crew, including her daughters.
