Over A Lab Vertical Farm

A Lab in partnership with OneFarm started this vertical farm as a community funded project with educational purposes that explores the way we will grow food in the 21st century.

Operated completely by volunteers, the farm uses new technologies to create a sustainable, clean and safe ecosystem for food production and consumption.

The crops are produced and consumed in the same building where they are grown. The produce is used by the neighboring café called Coffee Virus and surplus greens are sold directly to consumers through a Honest Food Fridge next to the farm.

The farm integrates local communities through an outreach program on vertical farming. Over 40 volunteers are following a training program and through school workshops, we plan to educate 500 children on the future of food and healthy living.

A Lab Vertical FarmIt is a non commercial, open project located in the ground floor of A-Lab in Amsterdam. The data from the lab is collected and used as an open knowledge database.
